Prior to Philips Japan, Danny worked several years as a VP and CEO a for Fuji Respironics as the leader of their Asian operations.  Danny is a Yale University Business Management (LEAP) program graduate.  Born and raised in the US, he has 30 years of health-tech  extended work and living experience here in Japan.

Kay has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare industry.  She has worked across US, Australia and Japan with increasing responsibilities at Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical arm, Janssen Pharmaceuticals.  She became the President at Stryker Japan in 2009 and the President of AbbVie Japan in 2014. Since then,  She has been the Vice Director at Ochanomizu Orthopaedic Rehab Clinic that specializes in self-rehabilitation. The clinic has treated over 60,000 patients. Kay is professor at Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business where she teaches Corporate Finance. She also serves as an independent director for several companies. Kay is a graduate of Tokyo University and has graduated from Harvard Business School with Distinction.  She serves as Vice President of HBS Club of Japan and organizes series of event focusing on entrepreneurship and technology.

She is a British Physician who trained at Imperial College of London and is also a member of Royal College of General Practitioners and Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, a Faculty of the Royal College of Physicians, in the UK She worked for the UK’s National Health Service for 10 years in Anesthesiology and general practice. She then transitioned into the industry as a Medical Advisor at Servier Laboratories there she worked into multiple roles of increasing responsibility across Medical,Regulatory and Health Economics In 2014, She joined GSK UK as Associate Medical Director. She then transferred to GSK Canada as Respiratory Medical Director to then become the VP and Country Medical Director of GSK Canada. In 2018, She transferred here, where she became VP and Head of Medical GSK Japan. Just recently in 2021, she took on the role of VP, Country Medical Director and Head of R&D for GSK Japan. Women In Healthcare – Japan Podcast 1 – Rami Suzuki

Rami Suzuki joined us on our very first “Women in Healthcare Podcast-Japan”. We discussed how she became the leader that she is today as well as some of the gender gap issues we see here in Japan. Rami Suzuki joined Ferring as Chief Executive Officer in November 2020. Prior to joining Ferring, she was at Janssen Japan as the head of Medical Affairs Function and at Eisai Co., Ltd. as corporate officer in charge of corporate business development. Today she serves the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as Life Science Committee member as well as Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) as an advisor to several projects. She was a selection committee member of Medical Science and Medicinal Science for Japan Prize 2018. She obtained her Ph.D. in Medicine at University College London with a scholarship from Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. Her postdoctoral research was on breast cancer at Imperial College, London.
